About AEBC
The Association of Expert Building Consultants (AEBC) was
formed on October 1, 2008, to serve the needs of expert building consultants worldwide. Michael Casey and Kevin O'Malley, partners of the inspection education and building consulting firm, Casey, O'Malley and Associates, were frustrated that there was no place to turn to for information
and advice on critical construction-related matters. They decided to
form AEBC to fill this void. In addition to assisting the expert building consultant, AEBC advocates the adoption of its Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
for the expert consultant.
AEBC is a professional association and its members provide such
information-related services as construction investigative research, claims consulting, writing, publishing and expert witness testimony.
AEBC is recognized within the building industry as the premiere organization for expert building consultants. The Association works
closely with vendors and other information
providers to ensure that the needs of its members are considered.
The objectives of the Association are to:
- Advance the knowledge and understanding of the building consultant profession
- Promote and maintain high professional and ethical standards among its members
- Encourage building consultants to assemble to discuss common issues
- Promote the interchange of information among building consultants and various organizations
- Keep the public informed of the profession and of the responsibilities of the expert building consultant
AEBC is in the process of recruiting Charter Members for the organization. The Association publishes a newsletter, sponsors private electronic discussion forums for
networking and AEBC business, exhibits at trade shows, acts on behalf
of members in negotiating special discount programs with vendors of
information products and services, and holds educational seminars and webinars annually.
AEBC's Industry Relations Program arrangements include features such as
training and special pricing designed to meet the operational needs of
the Association and its members.
